The Innovation Exchange has launched its Invitation to Tender for a research partner. The partner will capture vital lesson about the effectiveness of the Innovation Exchange's activities and generate insights about third sector innovation for policy and practice.
Ministerial changes in the Cabinet Office
The Office of the Third Sector welcomes Kevin Brennan, MP for Cardiff West, who takes up the role of Minister for the Third Sector. He joins us from the Department of Children Schools and Families where his previous responsibilities included the third sector. Phil Hope takes up post of Minister of State at the Department of Health.

Following a government commitment in response to the Commission on the Future of Volunteering’s report ‘Manifesto for Change’ earlier this year, Jobcentre Plus, part of the Department for Work and Pensions, has published its renewed guidance on volunteering whilst on benefits.

Permanent Secretaries and Third Sector Leaders Away Day – The Growing Third Sector: Opportunities and Challenges
Fourteen of the most senior civil servants from across Government joined third sector leaders on 26th September for an Away Day, hosted by the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O’Donnell. Organised by the Office of the Third Sector and the Association of Chief Executive Organisations (acevo), the event focused on how both Government and the third sector work together more effectively in order to improve public service outcomes.
